पोखरा,
फालिएका तथा प्रयोग भइसकेका कपडाको पुनःप्रयोग गरी बजारयोग्य उत्पादन निर्माण गर्ने उद्देश्यले पोखरामा ३० दिने सिलाइ, कटाइ, डिजाइन तथा सीप विकास तालिम सुरु गरिएको छ।
कोरिया अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सहयोग नियोग (कोइका), संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघीय विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) नेपाल र पोखरा महानगरपालिकाको सहकार्यमा सञ्चालित ‘पुनर्चक्रण र पुनःउपयोगमार्फत हरित रोजगारी सिर्जना परियोजना’ अन्तर्गत अमरसिंहचोकमा तालिम सञ्चालन गरिएको हो।
तालिममा पोखरा महानगरपालिकाका विभिन्न वडामा गठन गरिएका १८ वटा पुनर्चक्रण तथा पुनःउपयोग समूह का ३२ जना महिला सहभागी छन्। समुदायमा सञ्चालन गरिएका सचेतना, सीप विकास तथा उद्यमशीलतासम्बन्धी विभिन्न चरणका तालिमबाट छनोट गरिएका उनीहरूलाई फालिएका कपडालाई मूल्य अभिवृद्धि भएका उत्पादनमा रूपान्तरण गर्ने प्राविधिक सीप प्रदान गरिनेछ। परियोजनाले हरित उद्यमशीलताको विकास गर्दै चक्रीय अर्थतन्त्र मार्फत दिगो जीविकोपार्जनका अवसर सिर्जना गर्ने लक्ष्य लिएको छ।
३० दिने तालिमका क्रममा सहभागीहरूले सिलाइ, कटाइ, डिजाइन तथा उत्पादन विकाससम्बन्धी व्यावहारिक ज्ञान र सीप हासिल गर्नेछन्। उनीहरूले प्रयोग भइसकेका तथा फालिएका कपडाबाट झोला, कपडाबाट बनाइने खेलौना, घर सजावटका सामग्री तथा अन्य विभिन्न बजारयोग्य उत्पादन निर्माण गर्न सिक्नेछन्। त्यस्तै, मकैको खोस्टाबाट सजावटी फूल बनाउने सीपसमेत प्रदान गरिनेछ।
तालिम सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न गरेपछि सहभागीहरूलाई आफ्नै पुनर्चक्रण तथा पुनःउपयोगमा आधारित उद्यम सञ्चालन वा विस्तार गर्न सहयोग पुग्ने गरी सिलाइ मेसिनसमेत उपलब्ध गराइने परियोजनाले जनाएको छ।
तालिम क्लिन अप नेपालको सहजीकरणमा सञ्चालन भइरहेको छ भने विद्यता हस्तकला तथा प्राविधिक तालिम केन्द्र ले प्राविधिक प्रशिक्षण प्रदान गरिरहेको छ। तालिम केन्द्रकी सञ्चालक तथा प्रमुख प्रशिक्षक सबिता रञ्जितका अनुसार ३० दिने तालिमको अन्त्यसम्म सहभागीहरूले फालिएका कपडाबाट गुणस्तरीय, मापदण्डअनुसारका तथा बजारमा प्रतिस्पर्धा गर्न सक्ने उत्पादनहरू व्यावसायिक रूपमा निर्माण गर्न सक्ने दक्षता हासिल गर्नेछन्।
यो तालिम पोखरा महानगरपालिकाभित्र समुदायमा आधारित पुनर्चक्रण तथा पुनःउपयोग उद्यमहरूको विकास गर्ने परियोजनाको महत्वपूर्ण कार्यक्रमका रूपमा सञ्चालन गरिएको हो। परियोजनाले हालसम्म १० वटा पुनर्चक्रण तथा पुनःउपयोग उद्यम तथा सामुदायिक समूह स्थापना र सुदृढीकरणमा सहयोग गरिसकेको छ।
तीमध्ये वडा नम्बर ७ मा प्लास्टिकका बोतल सङ्कलन केन्द्र, वडा नम्बर २ मा पोखरेली सिसाकलम, वडा नम्बर ९ मा हाम्रो जीवनशैली, वडा नम्बर ५ मा पार्स्याङ–मालेपाटन सङ्कलन केन्द्र, वडा नम्बर ३१ मा सोनु हस्तकला, वडा नम्बर १९ मा इस्ट केयर गँड्यौला मल उत्पादन समूह, तथा वडा नम्बर १९ र २८ मा सौरिया गँड्यौला मल उत्पादन समूह सञ्चालनमा रहेका छन्। यी उद्यमहरूले स्थानीय स्तरमा उपलब्ध फोहोर तथा प्रयोग भइसकेका सामग्रीलाई मूल्यवान् उत्पादनमा रूपान्तरण गर्दै हरित रोजगारी सिर्जना गर्नुका साथै दिगो फोहोर व्यवस्थापनमा समुदायको सक्रिय सहभागिता बढाइरहेका छन्।
फालिएका कपडाको पुनःउपयोगसम्बन्धी यो तालिम परियोजनाको दीर्घकालीन लक्ष्यको एउटा महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा हो। परियोजनाले पोखरा महानगरपालिकाभित्र १३६ वटा सामुदायिक पुनर्चक्रण तथा पुनःउपयोग समूह स्थापना गर्ने र ३० वटा व्यवसायमुखी पुनर्चक्रण तथा पुनःउपयोग उद्यम विकास गर्ने लक्ष्य राखेको छ।
यस पहलमार्फत ६८० भन्दा बढी हरित रोजगारी सिर्जना गर्ने, चक्रीय अर्थतन्त्रमा आधारित व्यवसाय प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने, ल्यान्डफिलमा जाने फोहोरको मात्रा घटाउने तथा ‘हरित पोखरा, सफा पोखरा’ अभियानलाई सघाउने उद्देश्य रहेको परियोजनाले जनाएको छ।
परियोजनाले पुनर्चक्रण तथा पुनःउपयोगमा आधारित जीविकोपार्जनका अवसर विस्तार गर्दै समुदायको क्षमता अभिवृद्धि, हरित रोजगारी, दिगो फोहोर व्यवस्थापन तथा चक्रीय अर्थतन्त्रको प्रवर्द्धन गरिरहेको जनाएको छ। यसले परम्परागत ‘लिने–प्रयोग गर्ने–फाल्ने’ प्रणालीलाई क्रमशः विस्थापित गर्दै स्रोतको दिगो उपयोगमा आधारित अर्थतन्त्रलाई प्रोत्साहन गरिरहेको छ।
कोरिया अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सहयोग नियोग (कोइका) को सहयोग, संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघीय विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) नेपालको प्राविधिक सहकार्य तथा पोखरा महानगरपालिकाको साझेदारीमा सञ्चालित यस परियोजनाले सीप विकास, व्यवसाय प्रवर्द्धन, पुनर्चक्रण तथा पुनःउपयोग समूह र उद्यमहरूलाई आवश्यक उपकरण उपलब्ध गराउँदै स्थानीय समुदायलाई हरित उद्यमशीलता र स्वरोजगारतर्फ उन्मुख गरिरहेको छ। साथै, पुनर्चक्रण र पुनःउपयोगमार्फत फोहोर न्यूनीकरण गर्दै स्वच्छ, हरित र दिगो पोखरा निर्माणमा निरन्तर योगदान पुर्याइरहेको जनाएको छ।
Training to Transform Discarded Textiles into New Products Launched in Pokhara
Pokhara, 6 July 2026 — A 30-day Skill Development Training on sewing, tailoring, and product design using discarded textiles commenced today in Amarshing Chowk under the KOICA-funded UNDP Green Job Creation through Recycling and Upcycling in Pokhara (GCRU) Project, implemented in coordination with Pokhara Metropolitan City.
The training has brought together 32 women participants from 18 Recycling and Upcycling (RU) Groups representing multiple wards of Pokhara Metropolitan City. The participants were selected from successive rounds of community awareness, skill development, and entrepreneurship trainings conducted under the project. The programme aims to strengthen participants’ technical skills in transforming discarded textiles into value-added products, promote green entrepreneurship, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities through circular economy practices.
During the training, participants will receive hands-on instruction in sewing, tailoring, cutting, and product design, enabling them to produce a range of marketable products, including bags, soft toys, and other innovative products from discarded textiles, as well as decorative flowers made from corn husks. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will also receive sewing machines to support them in establishing or expanding their own recycling and upcycling enterprises.
The training is facilitated by Clean Up Nepal and delivered by Bidhata Hastakala Tatha Prabidik Talim Kendra. Lead Trainer and owner of the training centre, Ms. Sabita Ranjit, shared that by the end of the 30-day programme, participants will be capable of producing high-quality, market-ready products from discarded and scrap textile materials while applying professional sewing and finishing techniques.
This initiative builds on the GCRU Project’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community-based recycling and upcycling enterprises across Pokhara Metropolitan City. To date, the project has supported the establishment of 10 Recycling and Upcycling enterprises and community groups, including PET Bottle Bank (Pokhara Ward 7), Pokhareli Sisakalam (Ward 2), Hamro Jiwan Shaili (Ward 9), Parsyang–Malepatan Collection Centre (Ward 5), Sonu Hastakala (Ward 31), and Surya Vermicompost groups in Wards 19 and 29, among others. These enterprises are demonstrating how locally available waste materials can be transformed into valuable products while generating employment and strengthening community participation in sustainable waste management.
The textile upcycling training forms part of the project’s broader vision of establishing 136 community-level Recycling and Upcycling Groups and supporting the development of 30 growth-oriented recycling and upcycling enterprises across Pokhara Metropolitan City. Through these initiatives, the project aims to create more than 680 green jobs, promote circular economy businesses, reduce waste sent to landfill, and contribute to Pokhara Metropolitan City’s long-term vision of “Green Pokhara, Clean Pokhara.”
The GCRU Project promotes green employment, sustainable waste management, and circular economy approaches by building the capacity of local communities through recycling- and upcycling-based livelihood initiatives, replacing the conventional “take–make–dispose” linear economy model. The project is implemented with support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with Pokhara Metropolitan City.
Through its Skill Development Training programmes, business incubation, and equipment support to Recycling and Upcycling Groups and enterprises, the GCRU Project continues to equip local communities with practical skills that foster entrepreneurship, create green employment opportunities, reduce waste through recycling and upcycling, and contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Pokhara.
